A family-owned company since 2002, award-winning AmaWaterways offers unforgettable river cruises with 26 custom designed ships sailing through Europe, Egypt and Asia, as well as on our Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruises and on Colombia’s Magdalena River beginning in 2024. We offer over 35 different itineraries with the majority of our guests traveling with us in Europe starting in March, with Tulip Time cruises, and finishing at the end of December after the Christmas Market cruises.

And on a river cruise with award-winning AmaWaterways, you’ll unpack once and cruise through the heart of grand capitals, charming villages and sun-kissed vineyards. Wake up each morning in a brand-new destination aboard your floating boutique hotel offering the luxury of space and breathtaking views. Every day is a “see day” during which you will step right off the ship and explore on a variety of enriching small group excursions, from guided hikes and bike rides to tasting tours and historic walking tours operated at three different activity levels – all included in the upfront river cruise fare. Following your excursions, be warmly welcomed back on board, perhaps with a cool towel or hot mug of glühwein, depending on the season. Connect and mingle with fellow travelers at the daily complimentary Sip & Sail cocktail hour before sitting down for an exquisite multi-course dinner paired with hand-selected wines. After dinner, head to the Main Lounge where you will be treated to nightly entertainment, either from our onboard musician or local performance groups.

Overall, our guests are sophisticated, well-educated, and well-traveled. They tend to have interests in fine art, classical music, cultural experiences, history, wine, golf and exceptional culinary experiences. Our itineraries typically cater to couples seeking romantic getaways, food and wine enthusiasts, active travelers or those seeking health and wellness experiences, girlfriend getaways and solo travelers. Most itineraries are seven nights with a variety of pre- and post-cruise land programs as optional extensions. The majority of our guests come from North America and the language used on board is English however we do welcome many international guests from United Kingdom, Latin America, Asia and Europe.
